Ed has contributed to research into the pedagogical impact of text‑to‑speech tools, supporting the shift of reading pens from a niche accommodation to a widely adopted literacy support for learners with dyslexia, ADHD, multilingual needs, and broader reading challenges. His work focuses on how simple, non‑invasive tools can reduce cognitive load, build reading confidence, and support MTSS, UDL, and data‑driven instructional models.
In his role overseeing U.S. operations, Ed works closely with districts, state agencies, resellers, and AT leaders nationwide. He supports the development of evidence‑led pilot programs, professional development pathways, and sustainable implementation strategies that make assistive technology accessible and effective for diverse learners.
Based in Shropshire, UK, Ed balances his global work with deep local roots. He serves as a school governor and actively supports literacy and reading initiatives in his village, strengthening his commitment to helping children access the tools and encouragement they need to thrive. At home, Ed enjoys life with his two children and the family dog, who ensure there is never a dull moment.
